Constructing a health and safety management system to ISO 45001 standards requires performing an audit and implementing a continuous improvement approach that goes well beyond the regulatory minimum.
The course will enable you to build and implement a suitable organisation to meet your needs and resolve your problems to prevent and control occupational health and safety related concerns.
ISO 45001 is the only standard which embodies an internationally recognised approach to occupational health and safety.
As part of an integrated QSE management perspective, ISO 45001 is fully compatible with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

General Objectives

  1. Review of legal obligations, terminology and definition of key concepts.
  2. Identify the components of a Health and Safety Management System.
    • Specification ISO 45001. Its outcomes and principles. General Overview
    • The health and safety policy: point of departure for the initiative.
  3. Planning and Improvement: asses the risks and implement the action plan
    • Planning identification of hazards and risks
    • Legal requirements and other requirements to be taken into account
    • Define progress objectives. Formalise the health and safety management program
  4. Implementation and operation: include the programme in daily management activities
    • Define the structure and responsibilities
    • Ensure training and awareness raising is performed and skills are developed
    • Internal consultation and communication
    • Oversight of operational control at the workstation
    • Set up and manage a document management system: data and document control
    • Organise to handle crisis situations
  5. Verification, corrective action and management review: implement a monitoring and continuous improvement system
    • Measure and monitor performance: create a control panel
    • Handle accidents, incidents, non-conformities and initiate corrective and preventive action
    • Validate and progress using internal audits
    • Validate and improve using management reviews
  6. ISO 45001 Certification: the Approach
    • Key preparatory points.
    • Establishing an action plan to establish an SST management system

Professional Context
The ISO 45001 training is a course in safety management and practical implementation of the ISO 45001 reference baseline. At the end of the course each participant will be invited to work on his own individual action plan.
